Recent Progress in Microalgae-Based Technologies for Industrial Wastewater Treatment

The water resource crisis and concerns with environmental pollution prompt the necessity to upgrade conventional wastewater treatment processes. microalgae-based process has shown many advantages that can fulfill stricter demands for improved treatment. Microalgae cultivation be carried out in different photobioreactors under operational conditions. of microalgae biomass provides bioremediation some targeted pollutants through uptake/digestion or biosorption, resulting treated effluent production biomass. This paper reviews progress microalgae-biotechnology industrial A brief overview microalga types/classification, type, conditions was first provided. Next, a comprehensive review wastewater, including distillery, heavy metals, textiles, emerging contaminants, Finally, perspectives on potential scale-up technology critical considerations were also discussed.
